Next year end will mark 10 years since I started cosplaying. Creepy! Admittedly I can't say it's much of an achievement, getting old, because my vanity gave way to featuring my bjds' resinous perfection instead, but I still love the idea and would like to continue the hobby even if college threatens to consume whatever sanity is left. [If I had a gun....and if I weren't quite so logical I'd be like an idiot smoking pot, which alludes to shooting people in the head.]

There's really no point allowing fleeting fancies to drive my plans anymore since I don't have time, so I settled on a more solid list of people I'm so interested in and attached to that I really wouldn't care whether or not they'd been done a million times before. [Handily, most of them I love so much that they're relatively obscure, and so...]

Perma-list, largely for me own reference… )

RE : the previous post, nobody like Momokos? :O In any case, that's Baby Blue Labyrinth Momoko - now renamed Benoite Brightlingsea Laurentine [yes, yes, it is meant to be that convoluted XD;] - and technically kind of belongs to Djinn. Absolutely my favourite Momoko; I'm just glad to have her, and will probably post more pictures of her with more elaboration sometime.

On the other hand, it's been a while since I've done any art posts, so I guess I've accumulated a decent amount to post. :D Let's go chronologically!

Though I've put up the posters that I did for Synapse, I never did show the images I did for the magazine itself.

Art for Synapse )

Then there're things I've done quite, quite recently, in a handy little sketchbook with perforated pages that [info]scrunge gave me. :D Mostly copic-markered, because I'm lazy that way. XD;;;

Ragnarok Online : Qalys; Panther-boy Maxx; Turtle-Gijinka for Nat )

And that's all I have for today. Also, oh oh oh, I need cosplay help on this. I've got this wig I got from Hongkong, and I love it, I'd like to use it for copious amounts of cosplays. So do me a favour, have a look at it and give me suggestions.

The wig is very nice! Unfortunately I am in it. D: )

I'll probably be using this for Chitose from Fatal Frame 2 [though inaccurate, but I can't bear to cut it TAT] and Alternate Ninon from KoF:MI2. So far I've got these :
1. Sailor Saturn
2. Xellos from Slayers [inaccurate colour, but right texture and straightness. I have yet to see a purple wig perform miraculous acts like this.]
3. Karuto from HunterxHunter
4. Combat-san from HoiHoi-san
5. Kotoko from Chobits

More suggestions? :D

I was immensely relieved that this year, we had a good open space and were not at all thankfully in earshot of the stage. But this is also - I believe the first year I've looked back at the end of the con, and thought, "what the fuck did we do that all for?" I was talking to Tashi about this, how it felt so odd that it was a day we were looking forward to, and doing so much preparation for - and bam! Here it is, and here it goes. And inside - nothing. Not that people didn't stop by the booth and all, but after all the crap that happened today including the front-door not locking and a bag splitting resulting in items accidentally left at home - well, 7 costumes, 5 custom wigs, was it worth it? I don't know. It was nice to see actual setups this year though, I think the doll booths looked very nice. :D

Also, am I that unrecognisable as Watanuki, or is it because no one has seen that image before, or reads xxxholic at all? Because you know, you'd think that standing behind a booth with "TANGLED WEB xxxHolic 2006" wasn't a giant hint or anything.

But in any case, the real crux of the post, is that in half an hour, I will be carted off to Changi airport and soon will end up in China, Fujian. I'm not at all excited, far from it, I haven't gotten sleep and I really, really hate guided tours with 5 different hotels. Missing the weekend premiership, wasting precious time after having sacrified a great part of my SOUL to the EoY - but definitely since dad relents to us going to Europe and Japan, yes, of course we return the favour. Still, I wish he wouldn't lie about the program and the number of hotels we're staying in and so on to try to make it sound better, because it really isn't. I'm going to try to enjoy myself as much as possible. However I can. Will be back late 23rd, so merry christmas eve in advance!

I decided to go easy on myself today and just do the finishing touches of the Spider Spirit and Doumeki, since I was about to have a little online meeting with my groupmates and had to sit down and read the pages I photocopied from a book about the UN which doesn't seem to have a good impression of the UN at all. Fwee!

Since I'm a spaz I also decided to be overexcited and post the finished Spider Spirit and Doumeki costumes! Yeeey!

No ref pics, sorry, I haven't scanned them yet, but I hate this thing. It should've been the easiest. Instead it takes loads of custom painting of LINES. LINES THAT MATCH UP. AFJKDJSKLJFKLJSLKCLAMP!!!! I could not find cloth like this at all, so painting it had to be. Of course, there's a few bleeds and stuff but after scraping at the cloth and crying over the stupid yukata in an attempt to solve it, Djinn told me to forget it because no one is going to look that close. [And if they do I'd probably have to bap them.] What I'm reaaaaally happy with, despite the fact I ALSO had to paint black tulle white and that it was $#($*@) to handsew, is the crayfish bow. Eee!! XD

Sei is so unhappy in yukata. XD

FEAR THE FACELESS. Also, LOOK, I've conquered the DD boobs [you can't see the fitting but it fits splendidly yey] THERE IS NO BOOB I CANNOT CONQUER. I also hate sewing fishnet. Also, the little sash thing from the neck is wired! Now we can wiggle it about dramatically.

Also, another poll! :DDDDDDD

Gawd, I hate this, I woke up at what I call an unearthy time of the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep. Now it's 2pm. SAD! I'm SAD!

Things are getting hard to juggle. Working fulltime on the costumes, but I have a pesky little/BIG History group essay first draft to handle before the con and leaving on the day right after that. I'm interestingly making semi-decent progress - it would be a mind-blowing experience to have everything done the night before the con, and get some amount of sleep without stressing out till morning. Wow! That fucking blows my mind.

Since we're going to China, I have to get some clothes done too. The con is on the 16th, we leave for Teochew and Fu Jian on the 17th at 5 inna morning, and I'd like to be packed and have some sleep too. Si Ye needs some male ethnic clothing, a new shirt to match the Volks cardigan. Sana needs not-his-ethnic clothing, an emo hoodie. Tea needs ethnic clothing.

What's left for the xxxholic stuff?
1. Finishing touches to Spider Lady + Doumeki
2. Yuuko [getting Glory over for her Lishe bodeh]
3. Zashiki Warashi
4. Maru + Moro summer outfits

Hmm. That really could be far worse! It's not that bad. Godspeed!

Oh, also - the poll results are that I should cosplay Suzumiya Haruhi, 4 votes to 3 for Nagato Yuki. I shall take this into serious consideration! Djinn says if she went by my personality she'd pick Suzumiya Haruhi too.

Finished exactly a week later. A preview of Djinn's final, and actually supposed to be initial birthday present - Lin Dai Yu's outfit in the Zhang Hua scene of Hong Lou Meng.

The previous sentence translated, this is Lin Dai Yu's outfit in the Burying Flowers scene of Dream of the Red Mansion. Our youth is defined by Chinese karaoke LDs and Teochew opera and we always loved the pretty flowing soft pastel ancient Chinese clothing as opposed to how it's potrayed now in tinsel and big flower headgear. In any case, I'll leave this to Djinn to elucidate when her exams are over, but Djinn, I love you and I'm sorry this is so terribly late.

Oh! I nearly forgot, but the line in the picture literally says "From heaven* fell** a Lin (younger sister***)."
[*heaven : the character literally means 'sky', but let's take it symbolically here, **fell : actually the character literally means 'drop' but that's unromantic, ***(younger sister) : the two characters are a suffix for indicating 'younger sister' or in the case of Hong Lou Meng it's more of a polite way of addressing her as is common in the Chinese culture.]

This line is from something very memorable in our youth, the first song you hear in the Teochew opera movie version of Hong Lou Meng, which Jia Bao Yu and Lin Dai Yu sang together. It just so happens that Si Ye's surname is exactly the same character as Lin Dai Yu's - we didn't realise earlier, so when we did while taking screencaps we were dying of laughter.
__________________________

Other than that, finally got to a tailor and my Watanuki costume should be done in time. Now I can work on the other xxxholic costumes fullspeed, and since two are kimonos I should be able to get them done a little faster. ::crosses fingers::

I was debating about this also, and for next year's EoY I'll definitely be doing Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu with the dollies of course. The thing is whether I should do Suzumiya Haruhi or Nagato Yuki.

If I do Suzumiya Haruhi :
- I can pester people to go and see the booth - because the booth will basically be the SOS-dan club.
- I can be obnoxious and hand out flyers and things shamelessly in character
- but she's taller.

If I do Nagato Yuki :
- she wears glasses
- I can sit at the booth reading and being quiet - and in chara!
- I can stone out at the booth XD;
- she's shorter.

So :

Si Ye as Watanuki, summer uniform version, from xxxholic.

You'd better hope that I don't make such a big fuss out of each costume. XDD This was the easiest and the main character's, so I started with it first. Next should be Doumeki's, a yukata with a pattern I have to sew on myself. T__T I wish I'd found suitable fabric but oh well.

This actually masks what I've been doing today - I've been taking photos of things for sale.

First, thanks for putting up with me and my about my inherent inability to do well in exams. I'm feeling a hell lot better now, sadder but wiser, coping but when have you seen me not cope? I must be coping if I'm feeling this ego rush.

Football

Adhering to the concept that every dream is a wish fulfillment, I suddenly had a dream about Gaz yesterday. That Djinn and I were at Manchester, and I mean Manchester, Old Trafford, before a game, somehow ran into Gary Neville, got my G.Neville 2 jersey signed and woke up feeling oddly like that really all did happen. That's just tragic and pathetic, but it really made me feel....strangely better.

Of course, this is actually in accordance to a fantasy I would like to fulfill sometime in the future, like say 2 years on, before I go to university [if I get into university but let's not think about that]. Football pilgrimage to England [dur], two weeks, a week or so to get to and be in Manchester, another week for Liverpool. [Of course, technically and logically speaking there's actually nothing much else that is that touristy in Manchester and Liverpool except for the football, so.] It'd be nice to watch a match of players we love before they end their era, to at least have been there once to see it. This all, practically, has a lot of dependence on whether we have money.

But in any case - gah. How terribly embarrassing to have dreams like that.

Sunday - Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest

So I spent my time today [since I'd finished what homework I could] finally watercolouring about 1/3 of my first [info]sangrose10 piece, which I'm mighty pleased with, and the rest of the day we went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. Had loads of slapstick, crazily well-choreographed scenes, funny pain fun - and the crowd in the cinema were laughing audibly more than half the time, and one of the scenes was even applauded by a multitude of people. [But then again, these guys were so amiable that they laughed at the yards of commercials before the show, so what can I say.]

Also had good retail therapy on Friday night which made me all giggly and happy, and I had a good DVD exchange transaction at HMV, which I didn't expect to go smoothly.

Cosplay

Also getting irrationally excited about cosplaying with Far Cry and just cosplaying in general - though I keep reminding myself I have to get at least Robin's leotard done by Teachers' Day. My mind has been working out my Watanuki costume too.
I think I would really, really like to cosplay Kess Bloodysunday [warning before you click : this guy has blind eyes, bloodstains and um, creepy lighting from a weird angle.] from Killer 7. I'm totally cooled out. XD; Anyone have any remote interest cosplaying Killer 7?
I think I'll just keep a lookout for his shirt and get it whenever I see it and do it and keep it around until I get white sclera and wander around a event supported by Djinn and murmur cryptic comments.

And now to face the doom that is Monday tomorrow. Such a bane, school, such a bane. I still don't understand why people are getting paid to read notes to us for an hour at a time.

In the 7th minute, I made my way out to switch on the telly. In the 7th minute, Adriano decides to pull some funny shit and dive near the Ghana goalie, earning him an instant yellow card.

39 minutes later a goal that looks offside is allowed as the 2nd goal against Ghana by Adriano.

Enraged! Allowing that second goal is simply cruelty to Ghana who was already dealt the worst hand for the knockout rounds. Also, I'm still disgusted that Brazil seems not to have changed their policy towards diving - aka. Not Doing It. No one is ever going to forget Rivaldo's "My leg - no my face" four years ago.

Poor Ghana. They were driving so hard, but too many yellow cards, and just their bad luck to run into Brazil at this point of time. "See Brazil Stomp. Stomp stomp stomp." But it didn't include "See offside. Referee says Where - ?"

- Goodbye Ghana. 3-0, this is majorly depressing mon. And I don't like Brazil any the better.

The Friday and Saturday matches will kill me, I just know it. Germany and England'd better not muck up. T___T

As it is, I've oddly been wanting to talk about cosplay lately. I think it's mostly due to the games we got lately. Slightly updated tentative cos-list with [info]techn0ir,

Mae + Far Cry since-then Updated List 2007 again! )

I'm all the more driven to cosplay Roxas now, because my gosh, every mention of him in KHII makes me want to weep. XD;;; I really liked him. Unexpectedly though, KHII also made me want to cosplay Sora.

Sora's Timeless River version. Somehow I was initially creeped by Timeless River but then cute-ed out by it. It has its own keyblade too, so it would be a nice, different Sora costume. Which is cute. XD

The other game we've been totally-cooled out but by far unable to play is Killer 7. My goodness, so stylish and so terrifying. Hits all the right buttons of terror for Djinn and I, which means no way of playing it. XD; It's very psychological, first-person shooter, contains freaks [the category of monsters which are human but not quite] and maniacal laughter to alert you of their presence. No. I love the premise and the way it's done but totally unable to play it. Also, any game which names the main group after The Smiths on purpose? Uber awesome.

I was thinking about how awesome it would be to have a Killer 7 group, but very little local cosplayers have the kind of presence to pull it off and probably haven't really heard of Killer 7. It's also scantily-clad male dominated. I like Kevin Smith because he looks like he's based off the Corinthian XD;; but of course, suitability-wise for me it's either Ayame - a rival assassin who wears a kirigumi mask or one of the spirits [Angel?]; or Kess Bloodysunday who was blinded [perhaps] at death and was a serial killer. [Hey, another person with white sclera eyes!]

Gragh, I'm so pissed off all the time, since there's so much I have to do, and want to do, but I can't. I primarily blame school. I was in a general easily-offended mood today and it just so happened I ran into a lot of deliberately antagonistic people, whom I impatiently and angrily cussed at - from a list of a young idiot deciding to handily rest his ass on the floor of the MRT [Singaporean version of the Tube], a woman who was wrestling to the entrance even though Djinn told her a multitude of times that we were getting off at the same stop anyway - you get the general drift. Today just wasn't our day. [In fact, if you saw this 151.5 cm girl with a sweet denim shirt with flower embroidery yelling "F*** YOU" at people, er, that's me.]

But at least we got updates done! Yeap, it's difficult to believe but we're updated Tangled Web but we're attempting to gear for a FIFA World Cup arc....

Seishurou and Si Ye at Universal Studios, LA.

Yeap, the LA bit of the LA/Vegas trip, where we do quick budget tour of Hollywood and Universal Studios. XD; We also went to purportedly downtown LA, where we didn't bring the boys, but I took quite a few photos, and we had a few observations of the US of A - I'll cover that in the post after next.

I also updated Your Brains Here, after such a long time! And concluded the Censorship Arc, do check it out, I worked really hard on the last strip, just got it out today quickly after 'inking' it. I know I take forever with YBH, but I hope you like it anyway. T_T

On the other hand, I've been contemplating my cosplays for the next - okay, next two years. Who wants to take bets on whether I'll adhere to it? I think I'm going to boycott Cosfest this year, due to SCC being itself, and not going to Streetfest because I have no time. So that pretty much screws any attending of events this mid-year, which might be a good thing because every event comprises of :

1. Staying up the entire night before rushing stuff.
2. Making it to the event later because I can't finish.
3a. I'm still rushing stuff at the event, likely. OR
3b. The event ends in half an hour.

So - well, I can settle for a photoshoot or so.

Probable Cosplay lineup for 2006 - 2008 )

And actually, Far Cry [[info]techn0ir] will be visiting us next year, and naturally, since she's a tall, pretty yet suave lady and I'm a tiny, cuddly [synonym for fat] er, thing, it's all too natural that we've worked out a mile-long list of couple/pair cosplays for her short visit in June. XD; But hopefully we'll be making it to Streetfest together, our likely cosplay list so far here :

Mae + Far Cry Cosplay List for 2007 )

I shouldn't do it, but I'm slacking off tonight. CoH and sleep for me! Then tomorrow we go hunt for a sofa-bed for Scrunge's visit soon! ::tight snug Scrunge:: Thanks again for all the birthday wishes guys, I really appreciate it.

And so here're the cosplay contemplations I said I'd do -

Recently I added more to my want-to-cosplay list; Nagato Yuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu and either Nagase or Ninon from KoF:MI2.

Three new considerations. )

Other than that, I have to fret about end-year costumes for the boys and girls - and KoF:MI would SLAY me [even though I'd be very happy]. I'm worrying about a lot of stuff for cosplay, unfortunately :

- Robin [Teen Titans] costume. Very very important, but no time to start before June!
- Watanuki [xxxholic], but more about our bjd's costumes. Also very important.
- My long-delayed Chitose - not sure if I should give up on the batik paint and dye idea, and find a way to paint on the red kimono again instead.

In any case, something that was Djinn's guilty indulgence :

Isn't she cute? [You have no choice but to say yes, anyway. XD] She's a Volks You-SD Kasumi, and she cost us a lot of money. XD We surrenderred a lot of money to Evildolly, who was wonderfully kind and helped us bid on her [thanks Evildolly!]. I wasn't much stricken with Kasumi, but Djinn was, so I flung all the Unoa savings to her and told her to make a decision. So we did, we got this tiny little hunk of resin home, and she's really adorable. She's a rather silent little girl, so we call her Wintergreen - Tea for short. Djinn handsewed this little green dress, because I'm so busy that only one sleeve of her first turtleneck is sewn on. T_T Next time I'll show a full photo of her in it, it's really sweet!

And that's finally all. The other news is that I've been playing KoF:MI2 [that doesn't surprise you, does it] and after playing Ralf, Soiree was a breeze. XD Button-jamming and accidental combos for teh win!

No more DOLLS for the end of the year con as Tashi and Sena scamper off to become DGreymen, so I was considering moving Robin down to the December con and cosplay Petshop of Horrors with Bright, Rinka and Raydance - only to realise that the rabbit, Alice, had already been taken by the time I found her and refreshed the group recruitment page. Well! So much for that! XD;;;

So that would push me back to doing Robin for Cosfest, considering I'd have no idea what the boys could cosplay if I were doing Robin at the end of the year anyway. But the question of what to do at the end of the year popped up and bopped me in the eye.

Like, a blind, white-sclera eye.

That translates to, xxxholic for the end of year con. XD;

I'll be doing Watanuki from the Spider arc, from this image, with a white sclera eye instead of an eye patch. And I just got Evildolly to agree to Yuuko, who has most of the stuff needed [even the fake pearls! XDDD].

My biggest problem right now is Doumeki. X3;; I really need a Doumeki! [Especially since I want to make the Doumeki have a spider web across one eye.] I know most of you are taken up, so I'm currently at a loss. X3;;;;

On the other hand, I have the likely SD cos list:

- Yuuko : Evildolly's Glory
- Watanuki : Si Ye
- Doumeki : Seishurou [I know, this is a far stretch XD;;]
- Himawari : Yanagi [I know this is a far stretch too, we'll make sure it isn't too obvious when we do the setup.*]
- Spider Spirit : Ren [*repeat] tentative
- Zashikiwarashi : Ruka
- Nine-tail Kitsune [Gijinka] : Tsukisou

Hurrah! Now to find a Doumeki. T_T

Yey. We finally updated Tangled with the STAC 2005 cosplay photos and stuff. I sewed Sanada/Tsugiri's wig!

I have to admit I'm not half excited about this time's update because the costumes weren't complete to my satisfaction [and we forgot to stick the gem on Tsuki's forehead T_T]. Will definitely be completing Tsuki's Matsulika costume and then doing a photoshoot outside for him and Seishurou as Ryouko. In the meantime, I won't be shoving this update in everyone's faces. XD

I caught sight of Gary [Neville] in the Chinese newspaper today and snatched it up. I've stopped watching/thinking about football [soccer] because it simply breaks my heart because of its wavering status all the time [also, Chelsea's foreign influx with its foreign benefactor with its sudden rise to the top of the English Premiere League makes me want to pound them into the ground]. [Complicated matter, I've always been a Liverpool fan but somehow unfailingly and horrifyingly Gary Neville of Manchester United is my favourite footballer ever...]

I thought he was out with another broken ankle of some sort or another! And now I find out he was pissing Liverpool fans off again for some reason - but that's actually really besides the point, because it may mean I have to watch FIFA this year. Which would really suck, because I thought Djinn and I waned off football. I mean, we were just talking about whether to watch it or not and we agreed to watch a Sweden match because the guys tend to look like Gucci models running around on the pitch! Karma just decided to bite me in the ass and somehow there was a pang in my heart when I saw him in the newspaper! Damn!

Please don't make me want to watch the EPL and/or FIFA. It really would suck. ::ignores a tinny little version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" playing at the back of my head::

Thanks to my unfailing informant on events going on in the local cosplay forums [which I don't visit for to save my soul], I just found out that someone decided to create an animation Teen Titans team. Which makes me immensely relieved that I settled on the comic [as in, the REAL comic] Teen Titans Robin, with jungle-green spandex and red leather and vinyl belts and everything. I should learn how to do forward flips in the meantime - somehow I can do forward splits, side splits and cartwheels but chronically unable to do forward flips. Djinn says that it'll be easier to learn if I learn how to do handstands first. She promises that she'll get me to do handstands yet. I'm not sure about this.

I've hardly actually had time to exercise or do anything in JC life, but this could be explained because of the distance between the junior college I'm in right now and my house. We'll be moving soon hopefully to that new house we really liked without my dad being dicky about it. And I will end up at a junior college hopefully criminally close to the new house. XD That would be great.

Reading my ex-classmates illegal exploits of clubbing I find that I am actually incredibly prudish despite my best intentions to see topless shows and drink. My idea of a spanking good sinful time while boozing myself out is really sitting around the house naked gaming and getting all boozed out in the process. GEEK.

[I blame Penny Arcade.]

And so tracks another day towards counting down until the posting results to my new Junior College is out. I'm trying valiantly to pay attention and be a good girl in class but I can't help thinking I'VE GOT TO BE OUT OF HERE SOON and FUCK OFF, DUDE and I HAVE LOTS OF OTHER THINGS TO DO. Lousy Singaporean education system. Efficiency is a foreign word.

Oh, and also the action ZZZZZZ. I'd like that back, please.

Back, of course, from the end of year con, which was a project completely out of my hands as - FOOLISH ME, I THOUGHT I COULD DO 7 COSTUMES AND MY OWN. HA HA. WHAT DO I KNOW? I've gotten old and amidst my meticulous double stitching and serging, I've become so, so slow.

As most con days started out, it was awful, I wasn't able to finish all the costumes and so I cheated and hoped for the best. As it is, the day turned out much better than expected.

I don't have time to elaborate right now, as you can see it's just a preview, and I need to rush off to finish a suit jacket for Si Ye before 4am [I did his winter coat - corduroy is my second vinyl! ♥], but I'd like to thank a few people -

[info]silencestation - Djinn dear, thanks for relenting and tolerating me and doing my makeup and all - every year you're forced to do something new [like this year's barbering XD] and you always do it splendidly. Thank you so much, I'm really sorry it was so messy and stoned. ::tight hug:: Love you.

[info]ivoryfox - Thanks awfully for waiting for me and doing your Myoubi costume so splendidly, it turned out beautiful and I really want to do a proper photoshoot sometime! I'm really sorry everything was so delayed. ::snug:: ANd that you had to wander down and help me carry stuff up. XD;;;

Plhu - My pretty Enju! I hope the wig turned out fine, you look perfect as Enju and I want to see you again >D Thanks also for putting up with my seme antics, whether or not you were aware of it. XD

[info]sassystrawberry - Evildolly, it's okay that you didn't manage to finish the Matsulika costume, see if you can sometime in time for a photoshoot? XD I'm glad to know you tried, and I apologise for twenty thousand frantic phone calls ^^;;;

Bright Zanya - I'm so sorry for being so stone I didn't even realise your booth was so close to mine~! XD;;;; I really enjoyed seeing your baby girl and Zanoto, and of course you again, sexy as Kadaj. I always treasure the photos you take with me - and the gift you somehow always leave behind for me! ::hughug::

[info]tashigi - Tashi, you really didn't have to help so much with your elaborate boobilicious costume but you did, and I'm grateful for that. ::snug:: Definitely looking forward to cosplaying DOLLS with you next year EoY! ::thumbs up::

[info]sukuishi - Thanks lots for toddling over in the Pope costume and helping out, and also taking care of the booth, really needed the help since I was so stone. XD And you know the rest. ::slap on back::

[info]mushrooms - it was good to share in floofy sleeveness and stoneness, and thanks for helping at the booth. ::molest::

[info]kannazuki - Glad to see you again, Sena! ::snug:: It'd been a while. DOLLS with me next year, okay? Lots of fun blood and violence!

[info]sfsakana - I really didn't expect you to buy the entire set of postcards - T___T thank you so much Sakana! ♥ And I'm sorry I poked at you - actually I'm not, your figure was very nice to poke at. XD

[info]raywing - I'm really sorry I was so stoned when you said hi. XDDD ::dies:: but I'm glad you did, anyway, it was nice to see you again!

[info]holyprophetril - Qin, I'm very apologetic that the first thing that caught my eye right after going - "Oh my gosh, Qin!" was your shimmery purple shirt, and that I exclaimed "What an amazingly gay shirt". XD;;; Lovely of you to pop by and actually talk to me, more than once, more than a mandatory "hello". ::hug::

[info]averseofmelody - You were so sweet to us! THank you for all the really cute dog pins, Sanada will use them to his fullest XD

[info]pudding_neko - I was very happy and surprised when you brought your boy over to our booth! XD He makes a very cute Conrad and I'm glad you think our booth is nice! Also, thanks for struggling with our cameras and the jelly XDD

[info]wispen - Joyce, I think you did a great job this time, you will be coming to more events right? XD It was a very pleasant surprise to see you there. ♥

Beibei - What are the odds my booth is next to yours again?! XDDD ::snug:: Nice Kadaj, what can I say, you got so many photos~~~ XD

[info]crystarlia - It was nice to see you and your cute boy again! XD the hat especially fits him very well.

And to all the others who helped, like Nic, thank you awfully, and those whom I didn't get to meet but I sort of saw, like Rika, who indirectly made the con more awesome, and all those who brought their BJDs, making the EoY look like a mini BJD event and in overall make the con more tolerable and woke me up a bit from my sleepless stupor, thanks so much.

I will be away from um....today 13th December 5.30 am to the 23rd of December, in the USA. I'll update in a better fashion when I get back, and in the meantime, with the preview, here's a little happy sales pitch that I shamelessly copied and pasted from Djinn!

I may have survived on wine gummies and sort of finished my first ever human clothing sewing project, which is one pathetic little floofy shirt inside, but I have five more costumes to go.

The cosplay wigs for the SDs have been screwed, surprisingly through no fault of my own, and we will see what we can do and if I need to post a begging appeal to Singaporean doll owners to lend me wigs.

I am a midget, the proportions for the floofy shirt pattern is scarily large [thank goodness it doesn't matter since I need extra floofy sleeves] and it mens that I prolly regretfully might have to take a pattern drafting class because my mind can't comprehend my own body and the yards and yards of cloth that bury me.

Except it's a lot easier than doll clothes to me.

Yesterday was not a good day at all. maybe today will be better. I want to go on, but my body is crying for sleep and rest, my right arm saddled with a nagging ache.

I am excited about US and convincing people I'm a midget so I can go to casinos, pick up babes and drink beer but there's the con to bypass first. And the US clothes to do for Sei and Si Ye.

sleep.

Yay for finishing Ryouko's costume! fooking Matsulika!

I want the Ryouko wig~~~ T_T In any case, because of the unexpected [yes, I do suck XD;;;] bulk of the collar and the jacket Sei shows much less mancleavage than he's supposed to, but I think it still passes. I made a whole new pattern for jackets and I'm awfully happy with it. SD13 oldskin boys have such fussy body shapes.

I thought he looked cool here, but actually now I think he looks like he's going "You wake me up at 5 am in the morning to wear a gigolo shirt and a manskirt?!"

Ryouko's gigolo shirt! It fits lovely. XDDD ::dies::

I am so tired. But no rest can do! I'll have to try to finish Matsulika [don't mention the fact that if I wasn't sitting here typing an entry I could be working on it... XDDD]. Need to install the stuffing, make the shoulder plates and choker and sew in the ribbon for the corset [thanks [info]bittenbefore, [info]ayaweird, [info]sfsakana and [info]mushrooms, I managed to get the ribbon at Arab Street!], do her $*#(*)(@*$( white vinyl bootcovers, put in eyelets in her arm-things and two white vinyl straps.

[Boobs are not as pointy as they seem.]

Can someone tell me where to get ribbons like these around the chest/collar in Singapore other than Spotlight please? I seriously need those to complete the corsety-thing, then I can show a proper completed corset piccy instead of a Madonna-esque cone boob shot. If not I'll have to buy the white version of the ribbon and dye it for the costume - that would be singularily sad.

On the other hand, gee, I'm a lot better at this sewing business than I thought I was. This is the hardest costume, all the rest should be a lot less taxing. It consists of 15 over panels [about the same number of panels in the Seigaku shirt] and has stuffed boobs [which I need the ribbon to complete]. I really wish I had a girl [not MSD-sized]! Then I can make all kinds of pretty booby fetishy stuff which I can sell. As it is, masquerade~~!

I wonder if people at the con will recognise him as that Gay Testament [directly quoted from con-goer] of two years ago. He's exactly the same, except 2x the vinyl and 2x the gay.

Has not registered in my mind that my Os are over [[info]starfishin_ajar, yours today! ::throw confetti::] even though it's been 3 days, and yet also, it feels like my Os have been over for a long time. I am a contradictory creature!

In any case, I've really been spending my time not starting on my to-do list, but rather, playing the trial version of City of Heroes, of which the code I got off City of Villains. It's an MMORPG which is, rather obviously, set in an urban context with superheroes/villains, and man, it's the MMORPG after my own [and Djinn's own XD] heart.

So far, in my....two days of playing, I have created three characters to test out the powers and battle system.

All three of my characters so far!

Click for screenshots and other things about CoH! )

In general, CoH has completely eliminated my need for MUD. It's so much like MUD, except of course graphic, and in an urban setting with SUPERHEROES. Need I say more. ::geeked::

[Though I could've chosen to pick it up at a better time - ::sigh:: Idaeus, my thief on RO is lvl 45 right now, 5 more to 50...oh, did I mention you don't lose XP when you die in CoH? YEAH.]

And also, for those who just added me - HAHAHAHA YOU WILL REGRET, because it's cosplay season and I'm bound to spam.

iSpam! actually, all this is just to show off my Tsugiri wig from Bright. It's as of yet uncut and unstyled, and the costume far from done. Also, makeup test by Djinn.

More spammy photos of me as Tsugiri, but not at all. XD )

Since I'm vaguely free, you'll all have to tolerate more of my posts. Haha!

Off to wash the cat!

Thanks for the well-wishes on my last FLEE post everyone! XD I'm so glad it's over, and it wasn't all that bad either. In any case, I don't have any regrets on any of the papers since I've done my best, so now it's time to be busy with twenty thousands Things To Do, most of which have to do with the 10th EoY cosplay.

In any case, the real point of this specific post is : Luts Silver Glasses for Sale

Djinn and I bought these Silver Luts Glasses a while back, but never used it except for the first time we took it out of the box to try it on. So they're pretty much like new, but er, not. XD; In any case, we're selling it for USD45, which is the same price of it from Luts, except without the astronomical shipping. The glasses come bubblewrapped in a red and white checkered round box. Like said before, only tried on once and never touched again. XD; However, if you want a picture of the glasses, or a picture of the glasses on one of our boys, feel free to ask - you can comment here or email me at mae@silentragedy.net.

Unfortunately, we can take non-CC paypal only. X3;; For those who participated in my Dollmore order, I can combine the shipping for your items and the glasses if you want. For Singaporeans, you can, opt to meet up to get them. For everyone else, there's Mastercard I'll weigh and tell you the exact shipping cost.

LJ people get first dibs! If no one wants it here I'll go and post it on DoA.

Short self-ref on List of Stuff to Do - all of them being cosplay/bjd related )

If all goes well, I will be off to America on the 13th for a well-deserved(?) Fun Time without any worries about the boys and girl's clothes issues. XD Hang out with Scrunge in LV, cosplay with Far Cry in LA, take lots of pictures in the meantime. Will be back in Singapore on the 24th, just in time for Christmas to hopefully see my much-missed uncle. And then December would soon be over.

I've also gotten my group's cosplay wigs from Bright! XD They're so fantastic. The colours are spot-on, and the wig quality is great. My Tsugiri wig is longer for styling, and Djinn was moaning about doing a crap Yazoo cosplay. XDDD Interestingly, when I cut it to Tsugiri, it'll look somewhat like Kadaj. I did a make-up + wig test run today - Djinn did my makeup, in a very face-up type fashion XD and it did look very nice. Yay for having a faceup artist in the house! XD; I'll post the pictures next time. ^^ We've pretty much figured out what to do for Tsugiri's makeup.

Also! An anecdote about sighting Keong the Cowboy. )

Also, OMG [cosplay + bjd related] DRAMA DRAMA

Aaaand I just frittered away an hour I should've spent replying emails. I AM SUCH A FLEE DEVIANT
