So I was trying to think of something to post with this icon other than "Aaaa racing is over after I barely begun watching it and it only starts again next April it's time to watch all the races Djinn downloaded and wince a lot", so I thought that I might post a piece of related art and other pieces of art I haven't posted on my LJ before, but I looked at it and chickened out, so here's a post with no value at all, but to stare at my hilariously hypnotic icon of Rubens Barichello air-guitaring and Jenson Button headbanging to MCR's Black Parade with great, repetitive intensity.



Oh and for good measure I'll link to the ITV Black Parade video, because I love seeing drivers be good sports. Naturally it begins and ends with Lewis Hamilton because they're obviously contractually obliged as British media to stuff him in everywhere even though he's not good enough a sport to lipsynch to Black Parade [as evinced in the middle] but honestly, Rubens Barichello kills me everytime he shows up. Also, how does big David Coulthard, affectionately known as the retired DC who was crashed on his last race by one of his trailer crew [for shame, Nico], hide so effectively behind a small lady and pop up so amazingly? It's a real jutsu if I've e'er seen one.

So this morning my dad popped in, largely cheery because he didn't have to wake up early to shuttle me off to school. Cue scene :

[MAE and DJINN are dead asleep, because MAE has spent the larger part of her night and morning rolling around in Great Agony and DJINN stayed up to watch England vs Spain and Germany vs Switzerland take care of MAE. DAD hops into the bedroom.]

At least now I'm medicated and covered for today's absence.
On the flipside, I must continue the log of my travails with doctors. I recently had an encounter with the first commercial dentist I've ever gone to see, because in Singapore they send over government-sanctioned nurses and dentists to provide dental care. Of course the thing is that they don't give a damn, so my last experience with them in secondary school I bled all over the place, and the filling she put in fell out a few months later. For the past year my tooth has been chipping away and I've been lamenting to my dad that we need to get to a dentist stat [Djinn had the same problem, except for far longer]. Only recently have we discovered a dentist close-by, and scheduled an appointment.

So I went first, and it was concluded that she would clear up the decay in my badly chipped tooth, put a dressing and wait to see if it was better to put a permanent filling or if I should go for root canal treatment. So cue another scene :

YOU KNOW SHE TOLD DJINN THAT IT WAS GOING TO HURT LATER? SHE'S AGE-IST! And also my dressing on the tooth has eroded into a sad little slope down from my molar. Bits started to fall out a few hours after the appointment. TAT I GET NO RESPECT. And the anaesthesia lasted for three hours.

When I was backtracking through LJ entries of my juvenile years I found this little gem of a memory that reminded me how I really needed to get this down, so when I track back next time I can giggle about it all over again.

I used to possess this little spandex pair of pants with a flouncy little spandex skirt attached to it and of course, I used to wear it with the Gaz jersey. Years later, I've evolved - I've somehow lost this little pair of spandex pants but I've upgraded to wearing an actual skirt [ending slightly above the knee] with knee-high black socks and a pair of footy-like boots except completely black leather without cleats. The intention is still the same - to horrify people. I donned this on my trip back to my old alma mater on the eve of Teachers' Day to creep a teacher out and I couldn't help but grin at an incident on the bus.

I assume he means cute in a small and cute sort of manner - this was the best reaction to it the entire day. I wish I could convey to you the way Singaporeans pronouce in horror and disbelief 'Gary Neville'. :'DDD

On the other hand, a few days ago Djinn and I sat down and reconfirmed our doll list, who to keep, who to take out, what order we're getting them, developments and a relationship chart. Delightfully, we have reworked and confirmed a list of 22 dolls who are all interconnected in at least one way, to another. I would say watch out! Watch out for 22 dolls with the 6 degrees! but really, we're going to take a while to get all of them so I can't really say that. I am, however, hopping about in much anticipation and antsyness of wanting to get some of the later dolls earlier, but since we're sticklers for schedule and progression we can't. I can't give much information on who they really are or who they're connected with in fear of spoilers, but here's the complete list of their names, gender and doll size. :D

I've been thankfully catching up on overdue homework and of all amazing feats - I have only one left! [It doesn't matter because I just edited a existentialist play and acted a lesbian for this teacher.] I'm rather pleased with myself in a very unachiever-ish sort of manner, but it's better than nothing.

My day today was completely made by the Germany vs Sweden and the England vs Greece friendly in the morning. Didn't watch all of the England friendly because we were taping the Germany match which had no replays - but I'd watched enough and knew the scoreline, which were awesome - Germany 3, Sweden 0 [sorry Anders] and England 4, Greece 0. J.T. is never going to let people forget that he scored the first goal the first match he was captain of England. I wish Herr Ballack wasn't stupid enough to hurt himself in the Charity Shield, because Miro slotted in two goals too. A fantastic start on football again after the World Cup.

I'm also terribly behind in updating everyone of what's going on in Tangled, so for those who aren't on Djinn's flist [apologies to those who are and are getting repeat spam] - the Shikai World Tour arc is up.

Heya howdy all, as it must be apparent I am sick after traipsing down and back from Nanyang Polytechnic for lunch yesterday afternoon with what I like to call the three Js - Joyce, Jessica and Jason who are the closest equivilent to bosom buddies in my new school. As it is, I find it unfair that me, being paranoid and possession-conscious got caught in the rain with my bag, and my things got soggy. Djinn calls it "divine retribution". I say, "fuck the idiot who drove past me and merrily sent a spray of water in my direction".

So as it is, I'm home and feeling not too bad because even though I finished my history tutorial outline and everything I need today, I'm not missing much because of the sports meet, whereupon I would be doing nothing but sitting down and cheering for people I don't actually know. Not my cup of tea. [As opposed to probably divineoracle and shinigamid.]

So as it is, I'm getting stuff done. Though being sick isn't a rose garden, it sure is pretty good to kick back feeling like a druggie at 7.30 am thinking about the suckers out in the school square.

In any case, Djinn and I both did new layouts, and new art for the layouts - mine was drawn after one of the science practicals in the waiting room; it's of Maxx, who is my male representative [long story short XD].


I actually made this icon specifically so that you can see his eye properly, actually. XD;;; the smaller versions and my layout totally weird up his eye, which I like quite a bit.

Impending Doom

Terrified of tomorrow. Not that I didn't study, I hardly think it possible anybody didn't study - and not because I didn't finish studying - I think I hit the saturation point of nothing else going in. And I'm not sure what to do with it, like I've got this little mine in my head full of opals and perhaps diamonds even but I'm wandering around with a pick and I can't find the entrance. Or not know how to use the pick. In any case, I think it be good that I am nervous about it, it's Natural.

[Tomorrow, by the way, to insert context, is the first day of the written O'level exams for me.]

I seriously hope things pop out of my head tomorrow and fall on the paper. Being buried by social studies would be sad.

I also dearly hope my elementry maths paper 1 will be okay. In any case, I'm just doing my best and going away from people as soon as I can after the exam because I don't like to stick around and hear people talk about how fantastic/awful their paper was and discuss the answers in self-doubt and exclaimation - can't you learn how futile is it and stop gloating/moaning about your answers? Does it really enrich your examination experience? Obnoxious/sadistic.

Impending Dollmore Order
I've changed the date of the Dollmore Group Order to the 13th of November, to give time for Dollmore's handling and shipping as well as to ensure the items are less likely to sell out. Impending Geekiness
Of all the comics to adore it has to be Daredevil. Thanks, Djinn! Thanks, guy on scans_daily who posted the fantastic Bendis arcs! [that was supposed to sounds sarky.] A few weeks and we've ended up with 5 tradepaper backs. But the writing and the art - utterly fantastic. Makes me happy to read, it's so wonderfully lovely and touching. We like it so much that we've started another FST - for Daredevil. Oh, geeky joy. I thought it was bad enough we loved Ultimate Fantastic Four already...

I'm also, oddly, feel a small urge to cosplay. [Okay, stop with all the "Doesn't she always?" jokes.] It's probably the fact I have to immediately start work on our dolls' costumes and my own Tsugiri costume right after the exams to get them done in time for the con. In any case, my plans for now are : 1. Tsugiri [Alichino, EoY 2005], 2. Robin/Tim Drake [Teen Titans, Cosfest 2006], 3. Usaki Toudou(?) [DOLLS, EoY 2006], 4. Idaeus [Ragnarok Online Thief, slowly and a photoshoot sometime]. Idaeus, my own thief (hopefully soon assassin) in RO will be a slow sewing project for me - nearly two years of sewing for BJD now and I haven't really done much all by myself on the sewing front for my own cosplay. XDD ::dies:: Perhaps 2007 will be my white sclera year, with 5. Watanuki [xxxholic], 6. young Cable [Cable and Deadpool], 7. Wiccan [Young Avengers]. I'm starting to drift towards comic costuming, and I'm actually really happy about that. The only thing is that superheroes are a lot more demanding than anime/manga characters. XD;;; Also, sassystrawberry, I've drawn out the Matsulika costume sheet, whenever you want it tell me.

Back to the topic of comics, I'm using a new Daredevil icon! I made it. XD You can see how fantastic the art is in that little 100x100 pixel box. Unfortunately, uploading it meant I had to finally delete all my other old icons. I should just make a page to pop all my icons on sometime.

That's about it for Teen Titans. On the other hand, the Phantom of the Opera movie - I saw the poster a while back and got really excited, and now they have the final trailer up on the official website. It looks really hard worked on, and the Christine is okay, but I felt that the Phantom looked way too young. When he started singing in the trailer, and I heard him sing, all the way up to his cresendo and how he ended off on one of the songs, I was really disappointed. Not only was he too young in my eyes, but not half as good as he should be as the Phantom. His voice does not sound like it echoes above the heads of the audience, resounds in the halls of the theatre. He's just flat, and that makes me sad because it's SUCH a pity! I guess Djinn and I have been spoilt by Michael Crawford's rendition of the Phantom, as Djinn says, he sound so ethereal, and his voice DOES do all that the actor dude's doesn't from what I hear from the trailer.

Of course, I'm going to try to watch it as soon as it comes out. ^^ So happy! Even though Phantom might turn out to be rather weak. X3;

Finished up the absolute complete top+accessories we have for selling - for SD13 boy of course. And well - there's supposed to be a secret coming in March on Tangled and it's coming, yes it is.

On the other hand I'm still doing my homework late in the morning. Why? XD;;; Don't ask, honestly. At least the IRS one is half interesting - I'm currently doing a report on Jrock stuffu and I pointed out the all-time controversy of GLAY in Jrock and their style, X-Japan, Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer [Mana], Lareine [Emiru] and Psycho le Cemu. I was cheerily looking up all the Jrock stuff in front of teachers in the library [in the days I was actually IN school before the holidays] and typing furiously on detailed paragraphs. XD The report has pictures and all! Although I wrote long paragraphs on GLAY I couldn't find anything to write about Malice Mizer and Mana after a while after the band history and clothing style and influence on the Jrock visual kei culture. @__@ ::gets pelted by all the Mana/Moi de Moix[sp? who knows? @___@]/Malice Mizer fans on her friends list::

My ankle is still in pain and it is completely blue. I think I've been walking on it too much, and my other knee hurts because I've been resting on it a tad too heavy. XD;;;; It throbs. This is bad.

Had a fun day today - went out with Djinn to Comic Jam. Woke up pretty late, and after a lot of mess finally was able to go change. I wanted to vaguely cosplay Kamio today [vanity - thy name is cosplayer (2)] - which basicially means Fudomine shirt, tinted red hair, slight makeup and a skirted pair of pants [this is due to the fact that I'm going to a (shounen-ai/yaoi) doujin con]. So after a lot of swearing, spraying and complaining and vague smearing, Djinn and I went out late for Comic Jam.

( Everything it promised to be. Everything we expected it to be. Unfortunately. XDDD What can you expect? )

So we went on an MRT trip back to Jurong East to transfer to the other line and get to Clementi. I was obviously still dressed as Kamio, and after we boarded the MRT and after a few stops thankfully sat down [we had 12 stops to go], I popped out my MD player in Kamio style [considering that it's called Kamio...XDDD and the earphones Shinji] and started listening to Dir en Grey.

Djinn whipped out the digicam and thus took pictures of Kamio in the chikatetsu [subway].

Some are blur because of the moving - and my hair is more delightfully red than it actually was, because I ran out of red hair spray halfway, and applied my incredible Photoshop 5k1llz to make it that colour. XD Technically I'm the first TeniPuri cosplayer in Singapore! ::cheer:: I'll do Kamio next year properly. ^_^ I think I can pull him off pretty well~

I hope that all my cosplays can be as professional looking. I think the lighting really helped this. XD And the slight make-up. Djinn's angles are wonderful; and I'm really glad she decided to take photos in the MRT. ^__^

I liked it so much that I decided to replace my Kankurouism cosplay icon with Kamio! XD It's so Japanese looking - like an advertisement, really. The line of Japanese on the right means "I wait quietly for you", and is from JESSICA by Dir en Grey. The little katakana in the bottom-left simply says Kamio. :3

It was fun. I hope we can do stuff like that again. ^____^ It's one of the first times I've felt happy in a long time.

So now I vegetate at home doing homework and CGing that picture that I drew a few days back. Ja mata~

As seen in time, it is now 0426.

Djinn and I have just spend the night baking Teachers' Day gifts for more than 10 teachers each. It's rather taxing. The cookies that I made are huge and I can only dump 2 at a time into the oven, after 10 minutes, repeat and wait for cookies to cool and write the teachers' names on 'em. After coming back late today [I did not expect to have CCA. No.] and doing homework [yes, we have homework those sick bastards] we started work on baking, and bloody hell it was horrible. So bad that at 2 something we were giggling about my bad icing and making stupid jokes which we otherwise would have never made. And after that - all the cleaning up and sudden invasion by ants was very incredibly annoying. Ugh. Teachers' Day is the most stressful day for students. Never have Djinn and I ever gone to bed by our usual time/early on the night before Teachers' Day.

On the other hand, today we had Sunset Boulevard rehearsal whereupon I put on my Joe garb and went around yelling at people and whispering their lines to them in the scene. Also, if you haven't noticed already, a new cosplay-in-progress icon. The 'Mae' one was not being used. And I'm all in excitement about Kankurou most of the time anyway. 'Twas a lipstick and lipstick liner as well as a lot of face powder test to see if I was able to achieve a good thin-lip effect. Whee. It worked. I think another very happy thing was that I doodled on the rest of the facepaint onto that photo, and it looked Kankurou. Which just proves my point that facepaint makes the man boy. XDD

Before I post my National Day thang, I have to say that I really like my new icon. It's default now, you can see it probably. XD Thanks Djinn so much for helping me with animating Kankurou-chan from Naruto, I lub it muchly!! XDDDDD ::huggles him madly:: My kiiiitty.

Today was a fine day. Went to Kareshi Kanojo no Mise [anime merchandise shop], and got my very wanted TeniPuri St. Rudolph and Fudomine shitajiki. We were actually gonna ship it over, but was instantly relieved of high shipping charges and shock when we asked the nice lady at Kareshi's and she produced it after thinking that they didn't have any more. However, after we went out and looked into the display windows, we fond two things we were really, really wanting - [Djinn, because she doesn't have a handphone strap] a Hakkai handphone strap with a square die with Hakkai's face carved into one side and [me, because I'm a cosplayer] a Naruto Leaf Village headband. They're not very expensive either, not as much as I thought they would be [$20 over for each, really] but because I basically only had $10 in my wallet [so much for saving that for my Fudomine and Seigaku costume tailoring] I only went in to ask the prices and had to leave. I must come back someday and buy that headband. I also bought two packs of Orion no Shounen, so Shin, I'll bring my extras on Monday, but I got lots of repeats of repeats, so there might not be much new ones you'd like. We were really penniless that day, and so...yeah, not as much Orion as I usually buy.

Forgot that I have to make a cactus prop for my Hisoka cosplay. Eh....how do you make cactus leaves...

Also bought four Naruto mangas today, it's really really good. ::nodnod::

I'm afraid that I might have missed 3 Japanese classes - didn't go because of the SARS scare, and I'm going for Sunday's lesson, but thinking of missing three when I have exams in May is too much. @_@

Anyway, what I'd like to say is that:

I have a new icon!
I decided to go make another icon [since I had another slot..and might be taking away 'Evil' sometime, really] with my RL Oujou-sama, my darling gorgeous Kaoru from Dir en Grey. Thought of doing this with his cheongsam pic, but I couldn't find it. Found this instead, with him wearing my favourite outfit of his, and it was so...pretty. And the 'Unpretty'? I will not say, it is just a poignant remark on things. ^^ Besides, looks good doesn't it? XD eh. He's pretty. ::huggles:: And he has an adorable personality, and I love it when Toshiya occasionally plays around with him. ^^ Now off to the Toshi gallery to find a costume I might want to do sometime. I'm definately going to use this icon EVERYWHERE. XDXDXDDD

Second would be that I've finally finished my homework - the last thing being the sociogram for Lit. After drawing the important people's heads and everyone else's back-of-heads, I find that Jem looks precious [alright, bad pun but he's one of my better drawn heads], Miss Maudie is quite charming with the sunhat, Atticus looks 10 years younger than he should look, Uncle Jack looks quite the bishounen, Boo Radley looks like a sad shadow thing and the rest look like a bundle of haystacks. XD Also scrawled a graffiti-imitating TKAM to try to combat her horrendous shortening of To Kill a Mockingbird into TKMB. The idiot breaks the long and old tradition of shortening To Kill a Mockingbird into TKAM [a Singaporean in-joke, it sounds like 'tikam' and has a meaning to it] and I will try to input into her silly pretty head that it is TKAM and NOT TKMB, because as an English teacher she should also know that Mockingbird is spelt Mockingbird and is NOT broken up and written as Mocking Bird. ::scoffs:: Useless woman.

Other than that, I've also gotten a new icon, picture pulled off the Cosplay Extravaganza gallery here. Djinn made it for me when I was working on my TeniPuri daikyuus [these round head things for adoptions, the round headed blank eyed things I draw in class] because she and I thought that the ears and hair look like they belong to me, but we may both be just biased. XD I still like it. Also I have managed to hit 51 shots for me cosplaying Kizna. Whee~

Now I have the rest of the week free.

Oh, btw, when we were discussing sometime in the day, I accidentally blurted out:

"SAAAARS ATTACK!"

And we promptly started to laugh ourselves to death.

I wonder if they've tested out sonic waves on SARS patients...?

Hope dad's okay. :X He's gone off in an aeroplane to Malaysia and news that Malaysia is just keeping their SARS infections hush hush is not making me feel any better.
