An extremely pleasant surprise, and I don't mean it in a snarky way either! I'm really really astonished. I was also incredulous with the fact that I had 32 votes - it's very encouraging and very flattering. That makes two wig competitions entered and won, goodness. XD;;; 15 wigs! I'd say I barely know what to do with that many, but the even more terrifying truth is, I know what I want to do with that many.

- and I think that's all I have to say. Oh my god, once school starts up I have no life.

A reflective art meme for 2006 I gypped from [info]bluestraggler. To be warned : there are a lot of images under the cut, a couple which are quite big, and of various orientations. Nothing racy, really.

2006 Art Meme )

In other things, I think this year started alright. I also determinedly resigned and left Visual Arts - reminding me that when I was back in secondary school, I refused to take the shit from obnoxious seniors and left Theatre Club. I never regretted it. I'm not half as pliant as some people are, because I think it through well and if I hand you a 2 page resignation letter, please don't spend two hours trying to convince me to stay. As if I'm the type who would break down and say yes to staying! I felt vaguely insulted.

But oh, happy day on doll front. Happy year, even. :]

The very first update in the monster in which you know as Tangled Web was this :

"23rd December 2003 5.33am
The site is finally finished. X_x Not as contentfull as we would like, but it'll have to do for now..."

This means that Tangled Web is now approximately 3 years old. Approximating everything because I'm far too lazy :

1. Kinjyou Seishurou and Suiya Tsukisou are 3 years old. [Old men!] These two arrived during our Europe vacation, and the first pictures we saw of them were in a Virgin Record Store's web access area. Sei's first pictures made me cry. [Not of joy.] But when we opened their boxes, I couldn't recognise him.

2. Ruka is also 3 years old, chronologically arrived before the two old men. He was the first Sweet Dreams Lucas we saw when the limiteds arrived in Domuya and we helped to unpack, and he ended up ours despite the fact that we asked to see both of them to pick.

3. Sanada Mikado and Yanagi Mikoto are 2 years old. [Oh my god!!] Also ordered together at the same time, Sato babies, the F08 had just been released without any official pictures except for small, blurry web-camisque ones. We were also told, a little earlier that there would "Never be MSD FCS!" HAHAHAHAHAHA.

4. Lin Si Ye is 2 years old. We got him despite being late from a typhoon from Dolpa 13 by a Volks miracle.

5. Small Yanagi Ren is nearly 2 years old, the first UFK of AngelRegion. We were worried they'd never have it again. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

6. Chaitanya is 1 year old, Djinn's 21st birthday present greatly assisted by Cassiel [thank you!] and loads of lovely people who donated to the cause - our first sunlight and our first SD boy.

7. Teaberry/Wintergreen is 8 months old and was the first doll off YJA [thanks to Evildolly] we have. Djinn was pining and pining and moaning and pining and I told her, if there is a Kasumi with the 02 Wings that you want, we'll get her and lose all our money. GUESS WHAT?

8. Big Rennes Yanagi['s head - the girl you guys asked about here] is 2 months old, off a Tsukasa Konoe with a Link SD13 body and a SDKen box. A BIN matter off YJA with help from Evildolly once again. Finally, our little Ren grows up. I've been waiting for this.

The total count right now is 10 dolls, of soon which to be 9 dolls, and of soon which to be 10 dolls again. Perhaps in an interval it will be 11 dolls. And the most creepy thing, is that about half of our doll list is fulfilled. But I'm sure we can drag it out till we're 50, since the rest are a lot harder and BOY do we have a lot of stories to catch up on. Also, most of the rest are FCS, so NO MORE UNPLEASANT SURPRISES. [Like the next one.]

In any case, re: the 'not as contentfull' - HAHAHAHAHAHA STFU DJINN AND I, STFU. The current count stands at :

1. 78 photostories [not including roleplay/gathering/cosplay/travelogue photostories] up, 11 mini events.
2. 35 travelogue photostories
3. 2 'movies'
4. 59 photoshoots, 14 songshoots
5. 5 cosplays - Guilty Gear X, Prince of Tennis, Loveless, Alichino, xxxholic

36580 hits as of today, a generous estimate taking off my own visits.

What's this all about? This is me having put off doing this stat count for a couple of years, and to say that officially, yes, we will be renewing Tangled Web. To be - WHITE. and CLEAN. And NOT JAVA-SCRIPT LOGGED. and SEMI-UPDATED. Also, to acknowledge all the dolls we have, how long they've been with us [we never do the birthday thing, we always forget XD;] and that we have too many dolls to do this individually anyway. WE'RE SCREWED because we have too much stuff to do and plus the internet on the computer with all the Tangled stuff is down, so we can't even do our last update on the old layout. Gah. [HOMEWORK WHAT HOMEWORK FUCKING HISTORY ESSAY THAT THE TEACHER SAYS YOU READ THE QUESTION WRONG SUCKERS NYAH WHAT FUCKING HISTORY ESSAY.]

Also, thanks for actually caring about our dolls, what we do with them for all these years, and if it hasn't been all these years, however long you've been with us. It is constantly and adoringly appreciated, and if you haven’t already, do make yourself known to us sometime so we can thank you properly. XD

In any case, happy 3rd belated birthday, Tangled Web. And Merry Christmas and all other holidays to everyone, I hope you have lots of fun despite the fact that a lot of you seem to be a bit down this holiday season. Despite what it could’ve been, it seems this Christmas may not be so bad for us this year.

Everything is calm today.

Oh my dear, darling classmates, how you flirt with my temper and stifle my heart. If it's a 2500 UN Seminar essay done by four people, how is it that I ended up writing 54% of it?

Barring that - yay, Djinn is free from her exams now, and stone! But she'll be able to paint Zashiki Warashi's kimono, and I can finish it up soon. :] Maybe we can play some CoH tonight.

And despite all the rushing and everything I have to do, I actually managed to finish Undine - a mermaid wig )under the extended deadline. Don't forget to vote in the Kstarr wig contest! XD

This is one of those slow, pointless LJ posts. I have a load of sewing to do, titty boom. If I think of something to post, I might [and spam you].

I decided to go easy on myself today and just do the finishing touches of the Spider Spirit and Doumeki, since I was about to have a little online meeting with my groupmates and had to sit down and read the pages I photocopied from a book about the UN which doesn't seem to have a good impression of the UN at all. Fwee!

Since I'm a spaz I also decided to be overexcited and post the finished Spider Spirit and Doumeki costumes! Yeeey!

No ref pics, sorry, I haven't scanned them yet, but I hate this thing. It should've been the easiest. Instead it takes loads of custom painting of LINES. LINES THAT MATCH UP. AFJKDJSKLJFKLJSLKCLAMP!!!! I could not find cloth like this at all, so painting it had to be. Of course, there's a few bleeds and stuff but after scraping at the cloth and crying over the stupid yukata in an attempt to solve it, Djinn told me to forget it because no one is going to look that close. [And if they do I'd probably have to bap them.] What I'm reaaaaally happy with, despite the fact I ALSO had to paint black tulle white and that it was $#($*@) to handsew, is the crayfish bow. Eee!! XD

Sei is so unhappy in yukata. XD

FEAR THE FACELESS. Also, LOOK, I've conquered the DD boobs [you can't see the fitting but it fits splendidly yey] THERE IS NO BOOB I CANNOT CONQUER. I also hate sewing fishnet. Also, the little sash thing from the neck is wired! Now we can wiggle it about dramatically.

Also, another poll! :DDDDDDD

On the other hand, a quiz! The one everyone has been posting! It's not just the indepth analysis and the pretty results it comes with, but really more of the fantastically cute and adorable layout that the quiz has! It's seriously nice. Gawd, I hate this, I woke up at what I call an unearthy time of the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep. Now it's 2pm. SAD! I'm SAD!

Things are getting hard to juggle. Working fulltime on the costumes, but I have a pesky little/BIG History group essay first draft to handle before the con and leaving on the day right after that. I'm interestingly making semi-decent progress - it would be a mind-blowing experience to have everything done the night before the con, and get some amount of sleep without stressing out till morning. Wow! That fucking blows my mind.

Since we're going to China, I have to get some clothes done too. The con is on the 16th, we leave for Teochew and Fu Jian on the 17th at 5 inna morning, and I'd like to be packed and have some sleep too. Si Ye needs some male ethnic clothing, a new shirt to match the Volks cardigan. Sana needs not-his-ethnic clothing, an emo hoodie. Tea needs ethnic clothing.

What's left for the xxxholic stuff?
1. Finishing touches to Spider Lady + Doumeki
2. Yuuko [getting Glory over for her Lishe bodeh]
3. Zashiki Warashi
4. Maru + Moro summer outfits

Hmm. That really could be far worse! It's not that bad. Godspeed!

Oh, also - the poll results are that I should cosplay Suzumiya Haruhi, 4 votes to 3 for Nagato Yuki. I shall take this into serious consideration! Djinn says if she went by my personality she'd pick Suzumiya Haruhi too.

You'd better hope that I don't make such a big fuss out of each costume. XDD This was the easiest and the main character's, so I started with it first. Next should be Doumeki's, a yukata with a pattern I have to sew on myself. T__T I wish I'd found suitable fabric but oh well.

Great joy! Good news about the sweet man I couldn't help but adore even before I settled on really adoring him :

"Chelsea Football Club is pleased to confirm that Petr Cech's condition is improving.

He is now fully conscious following the operation and the effects of the anaesthetic. He is communicating and talking with his wife Martina as well as the Chelsea and hospital medical teams who have now given permission for visitors.

Several members of the Chelsea management and team including José Mourinho and John Terry visited him this afternoon (pictured), while Carlo Cudicini was at the training ground today."

Of course, Djinn in her pessimistic manner tells me he's not completely out of the woods yet, but this is good news to all of us, especially since we were both miserable and sick due to the fluctuating haze. [Bronchitis - huh.] It was especially fortituous that they played Blues News live today on Goal TV. My heart is bursting with joy and I believe if there's anyone with the willpower and the fearlessness to continue his career despite such an injury, it's Petr Cech. Of course he'll be out for a long while, but it's good to know he's alive and hopefully fine. Even if he does decide not to play football any longer, I'm fine with that because he's alright. But that doesn't really sound like Petr, so cross fingers and hopefully his condition will improve.

On the other hand, because this great burden has been released from my heart, I have a fun picture to share!

It's one of those things again...

Not sure whether I'm forbidden to post this, but I really like the photo. XD And also, Sei looks good! You can see the new outfit I made for him there. And yes, it's one of those media things going on.

I want to take photos of Sei and Tsuki's new matching outfits soon! I haven't done themed matching outfits in a long time, this time it's themed to animals really - Tsuki's is a goldfish, Sei's is a kitty. :D You'll see better what I mean when I manage to get some decent photos.

Will be back in school tomorrow - the weekend and today were awful, what with being emotionally and physically exhausted from Open House and Petr's accident.

I'M FLEE I'M FLEE

- well, actually, I'm not really flee at all. The first thing I did when I was granted fleedom yesterday at 11 was to come back and clean the bedroom. T_T

But really, self-created obstacles to fleedom are wholly my own fault, and is really all well and good with me. What gets me is the school business - that would be, of course, CCA, the bane of my fucking JC life. You hath no idea how sick I am of this shiz, it just so happened that today when the teacher in charge of the CCA heads was relating the cruel and sad story of demotion if it just so happened that a CCA leader failed their promos, I was whispering [loudly] and desperately Yes, God, yes please. Needless to say, her head swivelled over, but I was [unfortunately] not demoted for dissent!! That means I have to bear the rest of the crap until I find out I've failed my promos [which I'm hoping not to, really] and smses from my darling vice-president which goes along the lines of 'wad items? i dun understand'.

For my reference and if you'd like to take a peek, Mae's Post Promo To-Do's )

Busybusy, wish I could do without the CCA crap. I think I'll have a talk with my vice president tomorrow, new levels of asshattery are being reached every day. Despite all the busy, I'm still glad that my exams are over, because I can actually do these things. What would really make my day is if my comp stops acting up and CoH actually works out again. ::cries::

On a completely unrelated note - waaaaah Michael Schumacher T__T I was trying to totally avoid racing for the last two races because my heart couldn't take it, but when I switched on the telly the other night to check my England-Macedonia recording Supersports told me the devastating news of the Japan race - Schumie crashing out at this stage broke my heart. Much misery for the man who made me fall in love with Formula One several years ago.

I had quite a bit of fun with Evildolly's Dollfie Dream 1 body - the vinyl body and it's system of articulation provides for lots of interesting poses. The sculpting of the body is also a dream - SQUISHYBOOBS and the abdominal area are gorgeous, the musculature is very appealing. I'm desperately wondering about the DD2 body now, since I had lots of fun and a pretty high success rate posing this body.

_________________________________

I played footy the other day with 4 guys and 4 girls. The teams split to two 2 guys 2 girls and 2 guys 3 girls groups.

It was horrendously fun, but I expect I'm one of the only girls who thought so. Points about the game :

1. The other girls were put in because there were too many playing basketball [all girls].
2. So purportedly during such games, people run in and out of goal all the time. THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
3. It quickly got sexist after the first three goals [two scored by guys, one scored by me] whereupon it was established that only girls could score.
    a. Note : I'm sure he was trying to be nice, but oh god, so sexist.
4. Most of the rest of the girls stayed around the goalmouth discussing oh how much they totally dunno what to do when me and the other girl in my team were running around despite the fact we can't actually play footy.
5. So - INSERT POINT OF REFERENCE - the guys kept passing to them to take potshots at goal.
    a. Said goal was left EMPTY to give girls scoring chances SEXIST
6. Problem : that empty goal with two girls stationed at it's goalmouth was mine.
    a. Other problem : I was acting as right forward because only girls can score.
7. STUPID SOLUTION I SHOULD'VE NEVER COME UP WITH : if the guys won't stop the girls from scoring goals that even Phil Ken Sebben [EYEPATCH REF] can then girls must act as goalstoppers.
8. STUPIDEST DECISION EVER : the right forward runs back to own goal at each turn of the tide so that she can act the goalkeeper role and attempt to keep goals out.
9. Cue Mae running across the court every five seconds.
    a. Sad thing is, the teacher came along and decided to help the team AGAINST US. D:
    b. Even sadder, I actually kept 5 out of 7 attempts out. The two attempts I didn't keep out, is another story.
10. Playing football was horribly fun. I don't understand how it can be so after that experience, but it is.
_________________________________

The other thing that we've been doing during Physical Education is dance [yay]. Today was the Chacha, whereupon I was filled with delight that :

1. My PE teachers actually labelled a condition "a football problem".

And not sure whether or not to be delighted that :

2. Someone had "a football problem".

What's a 'football problem', you say? [rated NC16 for hormone talk.] )

Relatively pleased with this, probably because I think girls are cute and high-heeled feet are the only things I can actually achieve accurate feet shape with.

On the other hand, just today I did the first ever sketch on my Math notes. I've been actively not drawing on my notes so they don't look incriminating, and of course, trying to listen in class. I couldn't refuse Jess' request to sketch Crowley from Good Omens - of course, it isn't accurate because I don't recall batshit from GO anymore, but I was quite happy with the way his face turned out - ie. When I was backtracking through LJ entries of my juvenile years I found this little gem of a memory that reminded me how I really needed to get this down, so when I track back next time I can giggle about it all over again.

I used to possess this little spandex pair of pants with a flouncy little spandex skirt attached to it and of course, I used to wear it with the Gaz jersey. Years later, I've evolved - I've somehow lost this little pair of spandex pants but I've upgraded to wearing an actual skirt [ending slightly above the knee] with knee-high black socks and a pair of footy-like boots except completely black leather without cleats. The intention is still the same - to horrify people. I donned this on my trip back to my old alma mater on the eve of Teachers' Day to creep a teacher out and I couldn't help but grin at an incident on the bus.

[SCENE : crowded bus. MAE is standing facing the front of the bus, head turned to the left, GUY 1 and GUY 2 are squished a little further behind.]
GUY 1 : [sights MAE's Gary Neville jersey; incredulous] Hey look, Gary Neville!
GUY 2 : [in horror] But she's kind of cute...

I assume he means cute in a small and cute sort of manner - this was the best reaction to it the entire day. I wish I could convey to you the way Singaporeans pronouce in horror and disbelief 'Gary Neville'. :'DDD

Watch out for 22 dolls with the 6 degrees! but really, we're going to take a while to get all of them so I can't really say that. I am, however, hopping about in much anticipation and antsyness of wanting to get some of the later dolls earlier, but since we're sticklers for schedule and progression we can't. On the other hand, BJD people, please turn your attention to Satoko Ohno and the Mystery of the High Auction Prices. Well, I can't say it's much of a mystery anymore, is it? Just a few personal notes about this :

1. What could she possibly be thinking? It's obvious to me - money. You don't have to be in a financial crisis to want money. If you can gyp off money, you can want money anytime.

2. Jacking your own auctions up by 10k yen is not a 'little bit'.

3. Cassiel is doing everyone a favour by informing us of this because Satoko Ohno has come into the English-speaking community through eBay. Since she doesn't want it on DoA for good reasons, please keep it off Den of Angels and on blogs instead.

Shikai and three grrls.

The gathering had a good, manageably big turnout and it was great seeing everyone and their dolls! A far cry from the expected crowd of Djinn, Evildolly, Mainey, Bern, Cindy and me. XDDD Thank you all so much for attending and bearing with us, and bearing with me shoving my way around taking photos - it was fun today! I hope you all had fun too.

And as for the previous entry - thanks for all the consolation XDDD I wasn't actually implying anything by that, I truly believe we're not at all popular people, nor is Tangled Web that popular and I'm really thankful for everyone who supports Tangled and well - likes us. XD;;;;

And as an aside note, about how you haven't heard a peep out of what Shikai is dong here after the prompt and immediate news from Loki and Cassiel - I'm really sorry. XD; Tangled Web is on horrible backlog, I admit, and it's a hell lot of backlog that we are, trying to clear. But I'm afraid there will be a wait, and rest assured when he gets to Joey there WILL be a wait, because Joey, like us, only updates four years later is verrah, verrah backlogged. But we will post as soon as we can, especially since we made Exciting Stuff Happen in Shikai's stay.

Now all my homework! A!

SHIKAI: THE GATHERING

Date: 20th May [Saturday - tomorrow!]
Time: 1.30pm onwards
Venue: Domuya [when closed, will move down to Bullseye Cafe]
Emergency Contact: 91172159 [ask for Mae]

I know we're sounding all very harpy, but we really want to make sure there's decent attendence for Shikai - so much so that we delayed for a week. I know we're not half popular and that several Singaporean doll owners must be wondering why Leigh sent Shikai over to us two, but hopefully a nice amount will show anyway.

Also, my right lower eyelid is swelling up. aaaaaa

EDIT: we decided to schedule it next week instead, and up to you folks - either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We're going with a default of Saturday, unless there's drive for the other days. So please reply!

This is obviously from Djinn's lj, because I don't use kosher.

Come on dudes, you know you wanna! Or would next week be better? Please feedback~~

Shikai Gathering
Date: 13th May [Saturday] 20th May?
Time: 3pm
Place: Bullseye Cafe below Domuya

Is there anything not kosher about the above? Because I remember there being a lot of interest, but as of now, the only person who seems to be keen/going is...Mainey. Hi Mainey.

Come on! It's Shikai! Meet a celebrity and never wash your hand again!

Having said that, if there's anyone who's actually keen but can't make it on that date/time, please please speedily suggest an alternative and we'll see what can be swung. Being that there's only one confirmed [?] attendee...

Either way, please also spread the news locally, I know there isn't much time left, but we'd really like to make this work.
