MSN Live had a ~13% chance of getting the right photo of the drivers mentioned [~13.6% minus Rubes, who is obviously too old sorry Rubes; ~14.2% minus Rubes and Felipe Massa sorry Felipe; 15% minus Rubes and Massa and Buemi who got a bumrap in the looks dept]. Love the way you know bollocks about Formula 1, Singapore! Never change.

Don't make me so unwillingly excited, F1! It's only going to suck as sports are contractually required to but -

Did I mention how ludicrous I think 'Earth Hour' is for being scheduled 8.30pm wherever you are? It's not a fucking Earth Hour - it's 'turn down your damn lights wherever you are for an hour' hour.

15 minutes to the first qualifs and I really need sleep.

EDIT: Qualifs were exciting, slicks are awesome, satisfied with the lineup. Wonder what's up with the Renault cars and whether Brawn GP is using a font that looks suspiciously like Air Millhouse caps.

It's half an hour into the class and it's starting to look distinctly like my two other groupmates have completely decided to skip out on class today when we have a paper due - a paper supposed to be finished up by them. A paper of which I started a week ago and emailed them with, and a paper I stayed up for to source for statistics when they changed it last minute last night, consequently rewarding me with 1.5 hours of sleep when I was supposed to be in school this morning at 8.30am.

I am on the way to being incredibly disgusted. Good lord, fellows, please prove me wrong by showing your sorry asses in class sometime soon...

UPDATE: The one with the report showed after 2/3 of the class, missing a crucial part of it [a graph] so I went to beg my prof for an extention until after we present. He's a nice guy, and it was his birthday, so he let it slide. What was fun about it was that I was wearing my Communist Party shirt, and he said:
"Oh, you've got a Russian shirt!"
"It's a communist party shirt, sir," I said.
"Really? What party?" He asked.
"A party party, sir." I said.
He looked at it again, and laughed. "Oh, a real party! That makes a great birthday shirt."
"Happy Birthday sir." I said, and slid out of the room.

It's crunching in my university at the moment, and there are so many un-PC and relatively horrible things I realised, like how it's true that having hobbies and external interests stop someone from truly going on a schoolyard massacre [not like I can, because we can't buy guns here anyway], or how I'm increasingly starting to think of that very bad line that Lewis Hamilton is being a jerk with [delightfully highlighted in a cache of the ever...reliable Mirror, now on retrospect I should have gone to find it on the Sun for maximum laughs], but instead I'll just post this odd little ticky-box quiz that made me think - the hell is dark red violet?!

you are darkredviolet
#600B40

Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.

Your saturation level is high - you get into life and have a strong personality. Everyone you meet will either love you or hate you - either way, your goal is to get them to change the world with you. You are very hard working and don't have much patience for people without your initiative.

Your outlook on life is slightly darker than most people's. You try to see things for what they are and face situations honestly. You'd rather get to the point than look for what's good.

Like any true F1 fan, I am looking forward to the number of crashes in the world's first night race. This combined with the Monaco race [tragically and automatically, I typed 'match' first...] should be more than enough to make all drivers loathe street circuits more than they already do. I saw the preliminary fencing of the roads in passing when I returned from school: it reminded me of the stands fencing in European footy stadiums, or the London circuit in Grand Turismo 5 - parallels that may not may not help visualisation, depending on where you're from. In any case, I trust it has been improved from that visual state of fragility, but still there are other things to worry look forward to. The roads of Singapore were built to accomodate family sedans and the occasional lady-driven hatchback, and more likely than not, not for 15 sprawling racecars powered by V8 engines running along at jetspeed. Nevertheless, we shall anticipate.

I guess my dubious ambivalence of F1 in Singapore is pretty obvious. One could say it's like new teeny boppers ruining your favourite indie band's community, but the truth is that the truth is just the opposite - F1 has been a brilliant and esteemed sport for f***ing ever, and I'm just distrusting and kind of incredulous towards people who just found it and laud themselves of loving it without much knowledge of its drivers, companies and histories when it's been so accessible for so many years. This is like an intellectual disease of the basest kind, of which one might say 'empty cylinders make the most noise'. Except it looks like the empty cylinders count up to about 90%, if we think positively now, of the island's population. This rankling ranks right up there with footy fan fakers right now because of the natural hype...and perhaps I wouldn't be so perturbed if I weren't subject to this sort of people in school all the time - and I've missed two days due to illness.

I dunno man, maybe I'm just bitter than Singapore decided to cut in on Malaysia's F1 profits after Schumi retired.

After all that frustration pouring out – well, I'm surprised to find I have less things I'm frustrated about than I thought I did. Maybe it's an all-encompassing feeling of rage and anger: there's nothing like being an efficient, cynical and realistic individual trapped amongst hordes of the type of people whom I spent most of my life avoiding.

I really wish I was more cynical than I am, because if not I wouldn't keep hoping for the best in people, and be direly disappointed when they turn out to be complete idiots.

Before I start, just a note : Djinn does all the jewelry on Tangled/Endless. There, so I don't get miscredited! The only one I ever did was Joey's 13 | Cross to Bear. The lovely ribbony stuff are all by Djinn.

Other than that, I've got some really backdated news. Firstly, [info]aimeekitty, look!

We got your book in Singapore, Kinokuniya really really long ago! XD;;;; We actually went to try to get it as soon as it was in the Kinokuniya bookweb, but had to come back a week later because the stock was still in the storeroom then. On the other hand, a week later we went and found only one on the shelf - I hope lots more other people bought copies! We really enjoyed it, it's adorable and wonderfully drawn. :D

The other piece of outdated news is that of Christmas, whereupon Djinn [[info]silencestation] and my dad got me a Wii. But really, it's a family Wii. XD Here it is -

This is Prowl! Now all we need is a PS3 called Jazz. >D

And these are our Wii-motes!

And finally, something I've been raring to post - it may be helpful for those who're considering an order from BPAL before the Yule scents are taken off. Here we go, BPAL's Yuletide scents for 2007.

By the way, Djinn has helpfully reorganised our reviews and we just sorted our ton of BPAL out, so there're a few additions to the usual format I post in. After I finish up all the scents we got, we'll prolly post up a swap/sale list. ::nod::

That's some new-age imperialism right there on the 24th of December 2007.

"Every day 2,400 Japanese people die without a knowledge of Creator God."
..."Less than 1% of the population believe in Jesus Christ."

..."While those statistics seem overwhelming, the people of Japan are very receptive to the idea of grace, in a world wrought with superstitions."

Might some of this 'superstition' they refer to be Shinto, perhaps? A relevant and official religion? What's this, we're back to the 1800s?
Even if they truly believe in the sole religion of God, I am appalled they chose to publicise this 'cause' by exploiting their wholly unrelated cosplay archival website.

I hope you truly understand that this is exactly why many people will refuse to submit to "God's will". It blows my fucking mind.

Now to figure out how to delete my account on cosplaylab.com...

To offset that, here's a fantastic advertisement, March of the Emperor - er, Penguins. It's one of the only things that has amused me so, so much in such a long time. :]

And completed art, which I haven't done in a long time. This resulted after I finished my homework early and had a few hours to work on it.

I'm quite pleased with it. Now to get back to business and attempt to sew something while Arsenal vs Man U goes on - I hate to say it, but I'm gunning for the Gooners due to PETR - I mean, PERSONAL REASONS. [And at least I'm used to Man U and Livvy losing!] Still sulking that Robin van Persie isn't playing. He's my perve material and the only thing I watch the Arses for. :(

EDIT : Hot damn, maybe I should stop supporting clubs. The one time I'm not behind Livvy and Man U...after all these years of seeing them do silly things and lose...This might actually make some sense.

EDIT 2 : Amazing. Right after this they sub Brat [van Persie] on, equalise [with Brat, no less] and pull a one-up on Man U with Henry. [Sorry Gaz and Edwin van der Sar, but you can afford to lose!] At least 3 Thierry/Brat moments. I sleep happy. :]

As an ending note, today Djinn and I went to catch Night at the Museum. Cute. Cute show. Not highly intellectually stimulating but terribly fun, and I enjoyed it. It must've been pretty decent, because it's the first time in two year we've finished the popcorn. I also am looking forward to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [looks fantastic, and plus as silly as the original cartoon] and guiltily, Epic Movie. I'm more excited about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles than I've been about movies in a long time. In fact, never, I think.

A reflective art meme for 2006 I gypped from [info]bluestraggler. To be warned : there are a lot of images under the cut, a couple which are quite big, and of various orientations. Nothing racy, really.

2006 Art Meme )

In other things, I think this year started alright. I also determinedly resigned and left Visual Arts - reminding me that when I was back in secondary school, I refused to take the shit from obnoxious seniors and left Theatre Club. I never regretted it. I'm not half as pliant as some people are, because I think it through well and if I hand you a 2 page resignation letter, please don't spend two hours trying to convince me to stay. As if I'm the type who would break down and say yes to staying! I felt vaguely insulted.

But oh, happy day on doll front. Happy year, even. :]

Oh my dear, darling classmates, how you flirt with my temper and stifle my heart. If it's a 2500 UN Seminar essay done by four people, how is it that I ended up writing 54% of it?

Barring that - yay, Djinn is free from her exams now, and stone! But she'll be able to paint Zashiki Warashi's kimono, and I can finish it up soon. :] Maybe we can play some CoH tonight.

And despite all the rushing and everything I have to do, I actually managed to finish Undine - a mermaid wig )under the extended deadline. Don't forget to vote in the Kstarr wig contest! XD

This is one of those slow, pointless LJ posts. I have a load of sewing to do, titty boom. If I think of something to post, I might [and spam you].

EDIT Come on the Chels! Also, who let this guy on SkySports?! If I wanted to hear a biased commentry I'd watch the match on Chelsea TV instead of hearing someone refer to the Arses as 'we'!
